  • Emma’s Travel Inspiration

    New York and Romania

Emma finds a lot of inspiration in the world around her and likes to travel to new places that could create possible ideas.

She has travelled to New York City multiple times for inspiration. Her upcoming project is set in New York and so she travels there to make sure everything she writes is accurate and includes details others may not know without visiting the city.

She has also travelled to Romania and plans to go to Italy. These places have inspired her to have sections of her next novel set there to appeal more to her European readers.

She is constantly thinking of new settings for her stories so that they are not always the same. She likes to use real places rather than fictional ones so that her readers can look at the place and know exactly where everything is set, creating more of a connection.

  • Blending Horror and Romance: Emma’s Unique Approach

Read on to find out more about Emma’s writing process, how she comes up with her ideas and then turns them into stories.

Most of Emma’s inspiration comes from similar books she has read and loved such as those by Ana Huang and Frieda Mcfadden. However, the narratives and ideas form themselves when she is relaxing in bed. Part of Emma’s nighttime routine is going through all ideas and possible scenarios in her head and writing down anything she thinks could become a loved story.

Her writing process is different than that of a lot of authors. She edits her stories as she goes so her pieces are always up to date with her current plan and idea. Emma is a perfectionist and likes to keep everything neat and tidy. She has multiple notebooks full of idea possibilities and facts about her characters and narratives that she may reference later in the stories.

Emma is also a passionate photographer, always capturing pictures of things in the wild that she feels could inspire something for her later on. She will take professional-looking pictures of anything she finds interesting and came back to them when she is needing inspiration or feels stuck in her writing.
